Korle Lagoon Ecological Restoration Project

The purpose of the Korle Lagoon Ecological Restoration Project (KLERP) is to restore the Korle lagoon to its former ecologically and financially valuable state.

The project aims to improve Accra′s drainage, flooding and sanitation problems by ensuring good flood water conveyance to the sea as well as the implementation of the sewer pump station and offshore outfall pipeline.

IMDC pre-qualified and submitted an internationally competitive bid for the KLERP project. After award and contract signature the initial design phase commenced. Since 2007, PMI were responsible for the design and site supervision as well as head office support.

The bulk of the Environmental Impact Assessment EIA and Human Impact Assessment studies were carried out locally by strong partners, with the supervision and coordination carried out by PMI.
