SPECIALISED SURVEYS & SITE INVESTIGATIONS

In all construction projects and specifically new marine and civil projects, surveys and site investigations play a crucial role throughout the various phases of the project. Already at the feasibility assessment, it is essential to have a good understanding of the site conditions to correctly address the development of the masterplan and the project's future associated costing.

PMI has an in-house survey & site investigation division capable of conducting on- and offshore investigations. This complements our management and engineering department, performing the desktop studies, numerical and physical modelling, enabling us to offer a "one stop shop" to our clients.

With our equipment and human resources, we perform both initial surveys and investigations during conceptual stage, additional campaigns to support the detailed engineering stages, or control campaigns during the construction phase of various projects.

Our services include geophysical, geotechnical and metocean measurement campaigns. Results from such surveys and site investigations allow the engineering teams to implement the best technical and economic solutions, and forecast realistic overall budgets.

PMI will perform its Geophysical surveys to:
  • Have a full bathymetric mapping of the seabed
  • Locate any seabed obstacles, manmade or natural
  • Profile the sub-seabed characteristics, and allow for cost efficient further geotechnical investigations
PMI will perform geotechnical investigations, supplemented with laboratory testing to allow further characterisation of the conditions on site. This is done through:
  • On- & offshore drilling campaigns
  • Vibrocore campaigns
  • CPT measurement campaigns
PMI further executes metocean measurement campaigns, supplying valuable information on oceanographic and meteorological conditions. High quality environmental data is crucial in the design, construction and operation related to offshore infrastructure. This results in a good understanding of:
  • Wave patterns
  • Current patterns
  • Other potential influences (salinity, chemical and biological aspects)
PMI offers the benefit of an independent on- and offshore survey control on any of your projects worldwide.
