Boma, DRC – PMI Tiger Charter

Dredging International BV approached Project Management International (PMI) for the charter of a suitable vessel that could execute geophysical surveys on the strong-current Congo River and assist the dredging vessel at the same time.

Execution

As multipurpose work boat, the PMI Tiger is ideally suited and designed for offshore assistance to dredge vessels. PMI Tiger is equipped with a 140tm crane and 50ton winches.

These facilities coupled with a large deck space make PMI Tiger an ideal work boat for offshore and marine related construction work.

In cooperation with the crew, a special frame was mounted on the PMI Tiger, allowing her to perform daily geophysical surveys.

Health & Safety

The project was executed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both international guidelines, as well as specific regulations set out by the Congolese Health Services and project set guidelines were rigorously followed by the crew throughout the project.
